In 1952, when Dwight D. Eienhower was elected as US President replacing Harry Truman he begun a doctrine of containment to stop the spread of Communism world wide. Eisenhower also promised to end the Korean War. His doctrine included; OAS, ANZUS, SEATO and CENTO.
