The denial of the possibility of Socialism in one country is the basis of all the ideas and policies of Trotskyism.

Some say Stalin had the upper hand because he was the general secretary and could appoint the poeople in the pullet bureau. When Stalin won he was to follow the "Socialism in One Country" slogan. Stalin proceds to expel Trotsky from Soviet Union. Later, he put Trotsky on trial in abstentia for treason. Trotsky was finally hunted down in Mexico City in 1940 and assassinated with an ice pick.
